Your favorite RD!
When I first got my license in dietetics I never thought I would be a “normal” dietitian, and I hope I’m succeeding at that goal!!!
My professional pursuit in the field of nutrition began during undergrad, when just like you, I felt overwhelmed navigating confusing nutrition messages within our culture. But with some comprehensive education, I quickly learned that fundamental concepts of nutrition are woven into our bodies, and easy for anyone to access with the right guidance.
Throughout my career I’ve done a few fun things and am eager to do more. I’ve spent several years counseling adults and adolescents with eating disorders, helping them on their individualized journeys to repair their relationship with food. I’ve also bounced around in farm kitchens, fields, and estuaries, learning about and contributing to our food systems.
Like the science itself, there is great depth and breadth in my interest in nutrition. I weave my knowledge of physiology, gastronomy, and food anthropology into my work as a commitment to ground others in their relationship with food. My nutrition philosophies are founded in agrarianism and adjacent values - learning lessons about ourselves from the lessons of the land and food.
